Job Description Head of Financial Controlling

The Head of Financial Controlling and his team plan the annual financial budget of a company. In this position, he is particularly responsible for good communication between the individual company and controlling departments and the company management.

Typical tasks of a Head of Financial Controlling

The Head of Financial Controlling designs and optimizes processes and structures – always with a view to the long-term economic development of his company. Among other things, he is responsible for preparing the annual financial statements and drawing up budgets. He monitors payment transactions and forms provisions. His main tasks also include the evaluation of business key figures. He comments on these and then presents them to the company management, but also to investors and banks. He is also the central contact for auditors, tax consultants and tax authorities.

The head of financial controlling should have a commercial university degree and many years of professional experience in the field of controlling. This should also include the routine handling of ERP systems and MS Office tools, which is absolutely necessary. Relevant industry knowledge is also ideal.

We are looking for candidates who can think and act entrepreneurially for this position. A convincing appearance should be just as natural as business fluent German – and often English or a second foreign language. In addition to leadership qualities and the ability to work in a team, communication skills are also at the top of the list of sought-after qualities.
