The Accounting & Taxes Specialist is typically an entry-level accounting and tax position within an organization, bank or company.

Typical tasks of a Specialist Accounting & Taxes

The Specialist Accounting & Taxes is responsible for tasks in the areas of accounting and taxes in a company or in an organization. Such tasks are, for example, the general ledger, the reconciliation of bank statements and – depending on the size and structure of the company – payroll as well as the checking and analysis of accounts receivable and payable.

The Accounting & Taxes Specialist maintains databases and monitors account balances. He supports the accounting team in the preparation and control of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and the tax department in the preparation and control of tax returns, tax balance sheets and tax assessments.

The Accounting & Taxes Specialist is very familiar with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the current tax regulations and ensures that they are complied with. He handles tax audit inquiries and supports his team with tax planning and the initiation and implementation of tax strategies.

The Specialist Accounting & Taxes accompanies restructuring, company acquisitions and start-ups. For the position of Specialist Accounting & Taxes, a business administration degree with a focus on taxes and accounting or equivalent commercial training is usually required.

He should have good knowledge of the common spreadsheet systems and the relevant accounting programs.

Typically an entry-level position, Specialist Accounting & Taxes does not necessarily require professional experience.
