Job Description Corporate Audit Officer

The Corporate Audit officer is the contact person and specialist for all questions relating to balance sheet and tax audits within a group. With his expertise, he supports the accounting and audit team and the board of directors.

Typical tasks of a Corporate Audit consultant

The Corporate Audit officer is responsible within a group for the evaluation of the controlling, risk management and monitoring systems within the group and the sub-companies.

He is the contact person for his team and employees from other departments when it comes to evaluating and checking figures and processes with regard to neutral and independent validation.

The speaker supports the Manager Corporate Audit in audit processes and regular reporting on risk management issues to the CFO.

He collects and analyzes numbers and data to determine and localize weaknesses and errors. He is a specialist in identifying risks and creating and monitoring control concepts. He checks whether internal group processes are taking place properly and in accordance with the rules and whether the principles of proper accounting (GoB) are being observed. He uncovers irregularities (e.g. accounting errors and errors in legal consequences), inefficiencies and manipulations (e.g. embezzlement).

By creating transparency about processes and organizational units, he supports the board and management in making decisions.

In addition to his checking function when initiating change processes, the Corporate Audit officer assumes an important advisory function for individual specialist departments.

A business administration degree with a focus on finance or accounting or comparable training is typically required for the job of corporate audit consultant. Well-founded professional experience in the field of tax audits within a group is also required.
