Job Description Treasury employee

Within a company, the Treasury employee deals with the procurement, administration and optimization of funds. He supports the development and monitoring of the company’s financial policy.

His areas of responsibility include the administration of bank and investor relationships, financial planning, raising capital, cash management and the management of interest, default and currency risks. He usually reports to the treasury controller.

Typical tasks of a Treasury employee

The treasury employee manages the bank accounts of a company and the so-called treasury management systems. Together with his team, he supports international checkout and cash management. In addition, he is responsible for the central liquidity management and the monitoring of payment flows as well as the implementation of payment transactions.

His tasks include monthly forecasts, target/actual analyzes and liquidity planning. He is familiar with the German Commercial Code (HGB) and the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and applies them to the monthly group report. He also takes on special tasks and ad hoc inquiries.

The treasury employee and his team ensure that financial processes and the international treasury management system run smoothly within the company and in all companies of the group, he acts at the interface between accounting, controlling and other areas. He is responsible for processing documentary foreign business and preparing Bundesbank reports.

A degree in business administration with a focus on finance is a prerequisite for the position as a treasury employee.
