Job Description Team Leader Controlling
The controlling team leader is responsible for the technical management of the controlling team in a company. He coordinates and ensures the efficiency of operational processes in the team, which supports the management process in setting and implementing goals.
The Controlling team leader therefore bears a high level of joint responsibility for the achievement of corporate goals.
Part of the job and the typical tasks of a controller
The tasks of the Controlling team leader and the team that reports to him depend on the type, size and structure of the company. In general, this includes the areas of business management planning, cost accounting and reporting. This also includes supporting the implementation of strategic and operational decisions and advising the company management.
The Controlling team leader conceptually develops reporting structures, processes and tools and supports his team in the implementation of operational improvement projects. He is responsible for operational controlling for defined specialist areas. He is also responsible for the further development of professional qualifications and skills as well as roles and responsibilities in the controlling team.
The Controlling team leader is the first point of contact for the departments in all business issues. He supports the various departments in preparing the budget, analyzes cost center reports and carries out monthly plan-actual deviation analyses.
He draws up specific reports for the individual departments. He also coordinates and creates business plans and scenarios and simulates scenarios for strategic planning.
In addition to a university degree in industrial engineering or economics, a controlling team leader should have several years of professional experience in controlling and management experience.
He should have knowledge of group accounting according to international accounting standards (IFRS). Empathy and communication should be among his strengths.
In addition, a confident demeanor and diplomatic skills are an advantage for this position. A strong focus on results and entrepreneurial thinking as well as above-average commitment should also be among his strengths.
