Job Description Tax Manager
The tax manager is responsible for planning and overseeing all tax matters within an organization or company. He supports and advises the Management Board and the CFO on all questions of tax law and takes on corresponding tasks. He heads the tax department and, as a manager, is mostly responsible for personnel.
Typical tasks of a tax manager
In a company, a group or an organization, the tax manager is responsible for checking and complying with all tax-related legal regulations. He is very familiar with the tax law. Together with his team, he is responsible for the optimal tax design of internal company processes and issues. He monitors the execution of tax payments by his employees, e.g. B. the specialists taxes. The Tax Manager ensures that all tax returns, tax balance sheets and tax assessments are prepared correctly. He monitors all tax transactions and uncovers discrepancies and irregularities, which he passes on to the decision-maker or the CFO. The Tax Manager initiates and implements tax strategies. With his expertise and experience, he advises and supports the Management Board in restructuring. He accompanies company acquisitions and start-ups. Within a company, the tax manager is the specialist and contact person for all tax-related questions and matters. As a manager, he often assumes personnel responsibility. This includes recruiting and monitoring new employees, but also advising and organizing within his team.
For the position of tax manager, a business administration or legal degree with a focus on tax law or completed commercial training as a tax clerk with further training as a tax specialist is typically required. Several years of practical experience in the field of taxes and well-founded management experience are desirable.
