Job Description Clerk Controlling
The Controlling clerk supports the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and is involved in the annual planning and preparation of the forecasts.

The Controlling clerk creates the monthly reporting system. He analyzes the target/actual deviations and distributes costs and sales from accounting to the respective cost units. The planning, analysis and monitoring of the profit and loss accounts is also part of his area of responsibility, as is the maintenance of master data in the corresponding ERP system. Other areas are the creation of ad hoc and special evaluations as well as the quality assurance of the basic data.
Many employers also expect a degree in business administration for the position as a clerk in controlling – a focus on controlling is ideal. However, applicants with comparable training are also being sought. Anyone who does not have a degree should be able to show relevant training and several years of professional experience in this field. Since MS Office programs are used for the most part in this position, the programs should be mastered very securely – especially Excel. In addition, experience in handling ERP systems is often required. Controlling clerks should have in-depth knowledge of both financial accounting and cost accounting.
